The Fridge is currently inviting bookings for all kinds of events - with just one
proviso make it interesting. The Fridge will be developing regular weekday music
nights picking the best innovative, provocative and compelling acts and promotions
to put on.
That could include everything from branded label nights, sponsored unsigned band
nights, unplugged sets, warm up gigs, or even DJs playing their own soundtracks to
an onstage movie (yes, we've got a cinema-sized screen).
These could take the form of either a stripped-down warts-and-all gig right up to a full-on multi-media show
incorporating film, DJs, lights, you name it. There need be no limits: The Fridge is
proud to have made its name putting on gigs and events that do not conform to the
wheel 'em in wheel 'em out philosophy of some other non-independent venues.
And it's not just about music - The Fridge is also open for launches, after shows,
fashion shows, big scale live comedy, film events and multi-media events. Previous
non-musical events range from a Gilbert & George party to a Bella Freud fashion show and even a benefit night for maverick ex-Lambeth top cop, Brian Paddick.
The Fridge has also put in place a dedicated team to ensure, from initial idea to
counting the money at the end of the night, there is now the fullest support system in place to make each event as smooth as possible. As part of its commitment to new music The Fridge has a flexible pricing policy depending on the type and size of
event - as well as how exciting it sounds.

For 28 years, the atmosphere-soaked Brixton venue - one of London's last and largest
independently owned venues - has tirelessly dedicated itself to breaking new music and pioneering seminal club nights. Visceral, dark and just a little bit fucked-up, The Fridge is the antidote to sterile corporate sheen.....
Originally the Palladium Theatre the first cine variety theatre which ran a continuous show from 10am through to 11pm alternating films with stand up variety and comedy, built in 1913, The Fridge still has its upstairs circle - now the balcony bar - and high Auditorium ceiling, which looks down onto a much trodden dancefloor and over the audience. The Fridge's balcony easily doubles as a VIP area, with a separate bar and full catering facilities can be provided. On the ground floor beside the main dancefloor and the bar, there are two additional spaces - second dancefloor, and a quiet chillout lounge area.
At half a million cubic feet, this is the world's largest fridge. Because of its unique layout,
The Fridge is unusually flexible: it works just as well filled to its maximum capacity of
1700 (including the balcony), or it can be set up for between 500 to 1300 guests
downstairs - or even 250 seated, with candlelit tables and chairs, depending on the event.
The elongated 60ft downstairs bar runs along the whole back of the venue and faces the stage with its banks of booming, speakers and lavish lighting rig. The Fridge is set up to deliver serious decibels thanks to spectacular acoustics, not to mention
every event-boosting gadget you could ever dream of - from rocket launchers to
glitterfetti, Motorhead's original crowd blinders, Abba's original mixing desk and Pink
Floyd's touring rig. As venues go, it doesn't get more funfilled action packed than the
Fridge. Swing open the doors and come feel the noise!
