A d&b J-Series sound system has been installed at the revamped Fridge live music venue in Brixton, South London, reports PSN-e. 'Dusted down and spruced up' by owners Andrew Czezowski and Susan Carrington, The Fridge features an extensive new PA and lighting specification.
Now capable of hosting audiences of up to 1,700 people, The Fridge is also reportedly racking up a series of UK club firsts in its latest incarnation, including a 24-hour licence and a full-time paramedic.
Designed and installed by Encore PA, the sound system is based around a ground-stacked specification of d&b J-Series units. There are three J8 elements per side - one B2 and two J-SUBS - with a further two J8s per side to cover the balcony area. FOH control is provided by a Digidesign D-Show Profile console, with a Midas XL3 masterminding onstage sound. Outboard equipment for the XL3 includes ten channels of Klark Teknik DN360 graphic equalisers, four dbx 160 compressors, four channels of Drawmer ds201 gates, a Yamaha SPX990 and a Lexicon PCM70 reverb.
Encore also supplied ten d&b Max wedges for monitoring, as well as a full complement of mics and stands, including equipment from Shure, AKG, Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser.
